Mrs. Sylvia Mary LaRocca Virnich passed away at her home in Mount Juliet, Tennessee, on January 31, 2026.

She was born on January 4, 1925, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Salvatore and JoAnna Sances LaRocca. She and her late husband, Leroy Virnich, raised their family in Melrose Park, Illinois. She had worked as a book keeper in a small family business, but was most proud to be a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. After moving to Tennessee, she was a member of St. Stephens Catholic Church. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, John Virnich; granddaughter, Tiffiny Thomasson; sister, Anna Spiese; two brothers, Jim and Sam LaRocca; and son in law, Nick Owens.

She is survived by three children: Cindy Owens, Marcia (Steven) Lancaster, and Frank (Debra) Virnich; daughter in law, Gayle Virnich; sister, Nancy Steiner; nine grandchildren and spouses: John Robert, Jim, Matthew, Tami, Chris, Ryan, Patrick, Kim and Kellie; and also thirteen precious great grandchildren.

There will be a graveside service at Fairview Memorial Park in Northlake, Illinois, at a later date.
