Obituary

Mrs. Sue Ellen Maynard Robertson age 92 of Lebanon passed away February 20, 2026, at her daughter’s home. Sue was born on February 16, 1934, on the farm at her grandpa and grannie Maynard’s home. She was the daughter of the late John David Maynard and Irma Buhler Maynard. She was baptized at a young age, in the creek below Cedar Grove Baptist Church. She attended Carroll School and Lebanon High School. She married Byrd Dodson Robertson on May 16, 1953, in Rossville, GA. Mrs. Robertson worked at Lux/Robertshaw Time for thirty-four years and nine months as a clock assembler. She worked there until the factory closed. She was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. In her spare time, she loved playing rook and pool and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-six years, Byrd Dodson Robertson who passed away in October of 2019; four brothers: William, Raymond, Eugene, and Jimmy Maynard.

Survivors include two daughters: Sandra Kay Hodge and Delores Jean Howell; brother, Claude (Patsy) Maynard; sister, Ernestine Hankins; four grandchildren: Adam (Melissa) Howell, Andrew (Dixie) Howell, Julie (Mike) Warren, Lisa (Jody) Burke; four great-grandchildren: Jaden Hodge, Michael (Lina), McKenzie, and Jacob Howell.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 23, 2026, at 1 p.m. from the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home, 241 West Main St., Lebanon, with Bro. Addison Rogers officiating. Interment – Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Honorary Pallbearers: Jimmy Ray Maynard and Jacob Howell; Active Pallbearers: Darryl Hankins, Dennis Hankins, Andrew Howell, Adam Howell, Mike Warren, Michael Howell, Jaden Hodge. Visitation Sunday 12 Noon- 5 p.m. and Monday 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Ligon & Bobo.
