Nancy Wood Wright Voight was born in Nashville TN on January 4th, 1940, to Walter S. Wright and Anna Kirkpatrick Wright. She grew up in the community of LaGuardo, Tennessee. Her family was instrumental in the formation of the LaGuardo Cumberland Presbyterian Church where Nancy was a member her entire life. She graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1962 where she was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. She began her teaching career with Metro Nashville Public Schools in the fall of 1962. She was a member of the Tennessee Education Association, the Metropolitan Education Association, the National Education Association, and Delta Kappa Gamma teacher sorority. Nancy was a gifted teacher and was even nominated for teacher of the year. But Nancy did not measure her life in accomplishments, but in relationships. She was loved by all who knew her. Those who knew her well will best remember her for her kindness. She gave graciously and generously to her many friends and to her family. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of thirty-five years, Ron Voight on September 1, 1998.

Nancy passed away on March 22, 2026, at Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of her many friends and family who asked that you remember her, not for the way her life ended, but by the way it was lived and for the impact it had on those who knew her.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Lebanon, with Rev. Denny Shepard and Rev. Steve Delashmit officiating. Interment Cedar Grove Cemetery. Active Pallbearers: Dr. Ed Kirkpatrick, Baker Kirkpatrick, Jonathan Gray, Gary and Greg Adler, Richard Hickerson, Steve Toler, Jeffrey Jennings. Honorary pallbearers: LaGuardo Cumberland Presbyterian Church congregation. Visitation Wednesday 12:00 – 1:00 P.M. at Ligon & Bobo. Memorial contributions may be made to the LaGuardo Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
