Funeral services for Mr. Matthew F. Brewington will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, May 20, 2019 at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Bro. Garry Drennon officiating.  Interment Wilson County Memorial Gardens.  Visitation Sunday 1–5 PM and Monday after 11 AM at Ligon & Bobo.

Mr. Brewington, age 88 of Lebanon passed away Friday, May 17, 2019, at his home.

Born October 26, 1930, in Wilson County, he is the son of the late Lillard Thomas and Ruth Scudder Brewington.  He served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War, and retired from the City of Lebanon.  He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty three years, Dorothy Smith Brewington; daughter and son in law, Patsy & Wesley Winfree; and two brothers, Robert & Howard Brewington.

He is survived by: son, Tommy (Rhonda) Brewington; 4 grandchildren: Christie (Bobby) Williams, Beth (Kevin) Kent, Josh Brewington, and Jennifer (Zack) Diekmann; 9 great grandchildren; Jacob, Adam & Ashten Williams, Wesley & Kaylee Kent, Brianna & Alyssa Brewington, and Davaney & Zailey Diekmann; sister, Margaret Larkins; sister in law, Martha Brewington; and special son, Roger (Sherry) Thompson.

Pallbearers: Jacob, Adam & Bobby Williams, Josh Brewington, Kevin & Wesley Kent, and Zack Diekmann.
