Mr. John Paul Dickens age 81 of Lebanon, died April 6, 2016. A native of Wilson County, he was the son of the late Paul and Ruby Hesson Dickens. He was a member of Lebanon First Church of the Nazarene. He retired from the Lebanon Coca-Cola Company with thirty-five and a half years of service and was a farmer. He was preceded in death by sisters, Elizabeth Whited and Dot Edwards. Survived by wife of sixty-two years, Louise Cowan Dickens; four children: Gail (Ron) Purtee, Cindy Climer, Ronnie (Pam) Dickens, and Brian (Betty Ann) Dickens; nine grandchildren, Brad (Natalie) Whited, Jennifer Fennell, Jessica (Rob) Johns, Emily (Jesse) McCullough, Alex, Katie, Sara, Ashley, and Mitch Dickens; eight great-grandchildren, Grayson, Sadie, Maddux McCullough, Caleb Whited, Lana Fennell, Kenzie and Willow Kate Johns, and Anya Amissah; two sisters, Frances (Nate) Lindsley, and Thelma Ingram.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 9, 2016, at 11 a.m. from the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Wilson officiating. Active Pallbearers: Brad Whited, Jesse McCullough, Rob Johns, Alex Dickens, Mitch Dickens, Grayson McCullough, and Caleb Whited. Interment – Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation Friday 4-8 p.m. and Saturday after 10 a.m. The family requests memorials be made to the First Church of the Nazarene Parking Lot Fund.
