Funeral service for Mr. Jimmy Phillips will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 25, 2026, at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Gray officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation Friday 12:00 – 2:00 P.M.

Mr. Phillips, age 77 of Murfreesboro passed away September 22, 2026, at Alive Hospice Residence in Murfreesboro.

On December 11, 1948, in Wilson County, James Edwin Phillips was born to the late James Edward Phillips and Joy Trapp Phillips. He was a 1968 graduate of Lebanon High School, and was a member of Northside Baptist Church. Jim had a special affection for animals, especially the pet dogs he loved during his life. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from Precision Rubber. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Edward Phillips.

He is survived by his brother, Wade (Carol) Phillips of Manchester; sister in law, Sunant Phillips; niece, Levette; and nephews, Eddie, Walter, Rick, and Nick.
