Mrs. Eskew, age 77 of Lebanon, passed away June 9, 2026.
Born March 1, 1949, in Wilson County, she is the daughter of the late John Allen Norris and Johnnie Earl Lain Norris. Her mother died when she was very young, and was entrusted to her great aunt and uncle, Johnnie and Luther York, and was raised by their son and his wife, Lamar and Angie York.
She taught home economics at Walter J. Baird school for thirty-seven years and mentored several teachers during that time. She worked alongside her husband at the Wilson County Fair for many years with the antique tractor pull. Having attended all her life, she was one of the longest-standing members of Cook's United Methodist Church. True to her Southern nature, she had a gift for faithfully sending cards of encouragement, birthday wishes, and Christmas greetings, and was a talented seamstress who put her skills to use crafting costumes for plays and clogging performances.
She is survived by her husband of over fifty-four years, Donald Eskew; two children: Jennifer Eskew and John (Annette) Eskew; and three grandchildren: Sarah and Emery Eskew and Jack Leonard.
Memorials may be made to Cook's United Methodist Church.
