Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Eskew Major will be 10:00 AM Friday, June 26, 2015, at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Dr. Larry Locke officiating.  Interment Wilson County Memorial Gardens.  Visitation Friday 9 AM until service at Ligon & Bobo.

Mrs. Major, age 98 of Lebanon passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at Lebanon Health & Rehab.

Born October 30, 1916, in Wilson County, she is the daughter of the late John William and Fruzie Northern Eskew.  She was a 1934 graduate of Lebanon High School and received her BS degree from Middle Tennessee Teachers College.  She was a retired elementary school teacher.  She was a member of College Hills Church of Christ and the Wilson County Retired Teachers.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Earl Major; son, William Earl Major II, four sisters, Frances Eskew, Edna Eskew. Geraldine Eskew, and Tish Howard; and two brothers, John William Eskew Jr. and Thomas Eskew.

She is survived by her daughter in law, Tajie Major; two granddaughters, Marlee (Simon) Walsh and Tana (Russell) Ireland; four great grandchildren, Daylyn & Afton Walsh, Deklan & Brylee Ireland; and a brother, Bob Eskew.
