Mr. Gerald Curtis Chastain age 69 of South Carthage passed away September 27, 2026, at Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital. Born in Lebanon, TN, May 18, 1957, he was the son of the late Fred Albein Chastain Jr. and Dorothy Jean Bennett Chastain.

Gerald attended Lebanon High School and was a member of Berea Church of Christ. He served his country honorably in the U. S. Navy. He worked at Toshiba America in Lebanon for a number of years before being one of the first hired employees of the Nissan Plant in Smyrna. Before retiring from Nissan he worked in paint quality control.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Albein Chastain.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-one years, Pam Bates Chastain; three sons: Jason Curtis Chastain, Brandon Allen (Teri) Chastain, Jarad Cody (Jaclyn) Chastain; granddaughter, Ella Grace Chastain; sister, Kimberly Tayse (Craig Cook); brother, Fred (Jennifer) Chastain, Keith (Karla) Zachary; three sisters-in-law: Pat Foster, Carmen Williams, Faye (David) Williams.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at 2 p.m. from the Conatser Cemetery on Berea Church Road with Kevin White officiating. Pallbearers will be Chris and Alex Chastain, Derrick Foster, Doug Raines, Craig Cook, Jimmy Elrod. Visitation Wednesday 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home.
