Mr. George H. Lowery, Age 73, of Lebanon died May 9, 2014.

A native of Chillicothe, OH, he was the son of the late Carl and Margaret McCafferty Lowery.  He was a 1959 graduate of Lebanon High School and Hume-Fogg Technical School.  He was a member of Barton's Creek Baptist Church and retired from (Texas Eastern) Duke Energy with thirty-four years of service.  He received a heart transplant in 1988.  He was the nineteenth person to undergo heart transplant surgery at St. Thomas Hospital.  He was preceded in death by sister, Nancy O'Neal Raines; brother, Edward Lee "Eddie" Lowery.

Survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Lynn Neal Lowery; four children:  Scott (Rosa) Lowery, Julie (Scott) Benson, Steven (Michelle) Lowery, Charlie (Sara) Lowery; eight grandchildren:  Elliott Benson, Avery, Spencer, Gavin, Gracie and Grayson Lowery, David and Deanna Galarza; two brothers:  Tommy (Jean) Lowery, Milton (Shera) Lowery; sister, Betsy Buckingham; several nieces and nephews.

His remains rest at the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Lebanon, where services are Monday, May 12, 2014, at 1 p.m. with Bro. Terry Cathey officiating.  Honorary Pallbearers:  LHS Class of 1959, Barton's Creek Church family, retirees of Texas Eastern; Active Pallbearers:  Mike and Jerry Hill, Jerry Dowell, Harold Doxtater, Stewart Smith, Ronnie Laine, Claude Maynard, Jimmy Byrd.  Interment – Cedar Grove Cemetery.  Visitation Sunday 2-6 p.m. and Monday after 11 a.m.
