Funeral services for Mrs. Fay Sadler Huddleston age 87 of Lebanon and a long-time resident of Hendersonville will be held Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 2 p.m. from the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Lebanon with Rev. David Freeman, pastor of Lebanon First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow on Friday at 3 p.m. at the Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Thursday from Noon until service time at 2 p.m. at Ligon & Bobo.
Born Minnie Fay Sadler on October 13, 1938, in Cannon County, TN. She was the only daughter and one of four children of the late William Taft Sadler and Marie Simmons Sadler. She became a Christian at an early age, attended the public schools in Cannon County through the tenth grade and graduated in 1956 from Central High School in Nashville. Mrs. Huddleston graduated from the St. Thomas School of Nursing in Nashville in 1959 and became a Registered Nurse. Her nursing career would begin at Baptist Hospital in Knoxville, then on to Nashville General Hospital for a time, before working at Nashville Memorial Hospital in Madison for twenty-five years before retiring.
Mrs. Huddleston was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Hendersonville before moving her membership to Lebanon First Baptist Church.
After retiring Fay and her husband Charles moved to the Huddleston Century Farm near Lebanon where they enjoyed their remaining years together. Fay was active in Sunday School, Bible Studies and LLL for seniors at First Baptist Church. She volunteered at Lebanon Senior Citizens Center and was a Master Gardener. She had a love of gardening and art painting. She especially was fond of irises. She was a member of the Twin State Iris Society and won many awards through the years.
Mrs. Huddleston is survived by her three sons, of whom she was so proud: Charles Louis Huddleston II and wife Lisa, Barton West Huddleston and wife Allyson, Jonathan Edward Huddleston and wife Betsy; nine grandchildren she adored: Charles Louis (Heather) Huddleston III, Sarah (John) Essary, Nicholas (Becky) Huddleston, William Huddleston, Emily Huddleston, Katherine (John) Waugh, Kristen (Matt) Grispo, Ian Huddleston, Burke Huddleston; three great grandchildren; she also leaves behind her only surviving brother, John (Linda) Sadler.
Fay was preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-seven years, Charles Louis Huddleston on July 15, 2017; an infant son, Troy Newton Huddleston; two brothers: William Doyle Sadler and James Doris Sadler.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Rev. Don McElroy Scholarship Fund at Lebanon First Baptist Church.
