Obituary

Dwight Payne Phillips, age 77, passed away on April 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who found his greatest joy in the people he loved. His family meant everything to him, and he took great pride in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He was a faithful member of Immanuel Baptist church and loved his men’s Sunday school class. Whether it was sharing stories, offering advice, or simply being present, he made each person feel valued and loved.

Dwight lived a full life. He graduated from Lebanon high school in 1967, and married his high school sweetheart shortly after. Dwight retired from TRW after 35 years of employment.

He will be remembered for his kindness and steady presence that he brought into the lives of those around him. His legacy lives on through the family he cherished so deeply. He was preceded in death by his parents: Calvin and Elizabeth Phillips, brothers: Carl Rae Phillips, William Arvil Phillips, Bobby Phillips, Ralph Phillips, Jackie Phillips, and Pat Phillips, and sister: Gleanice Phillips

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Brenda A Phillips, his daughters Melonie (Scott) Tungate and Sherry (Jeff) Vaught. Grandchildren Phillip (Haylee) Smith, Shelby (John) Strahlman, Morgan (Lamar) Quezaire, Hunter (Sarah) Vaught, Kayleigh Vaught, and Anna Grace Vaught.
