Mr. Basel Tyree age 87 of Lebanon died July 17, 2015 at Quality Care Nursing Home.  Born in Smith County, he was the son of the late Bethel and Ethel Bennett Tyree.  He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.  He was a member of West Hills Baptist Church.  He retired from the City of Lebanon Police Department.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Dawson Tyree; two sisters:  Irene Henson and Christine Farley.

He is survived by daughter, Elaine (Dana) Freeman; two brothers:  Leonard (Joyce) Tyree, Randy Tyree; numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.  The family extends a special thanks to Quality Care Nursing Home staff.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date at the Wilson County Memorial Gardens.  The family request in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Adult Learning Center, 107 N. Greenwood Avenue, Lebanon, TN 37087
