Mrs. Anne Sparks, a thirty year resident of Hartsville, TN, and formerly of Pleasant Valley, N.Y. entered into eternal rest December 17, 2024.  She was 90.

Daughter of the late Jacob and Gertrude Hoomans Suierveld, she was born on April 24, 1934, in Mt. Kisco, N.Y.  As a teenager, she and her family relocated to Aldenville, PA., where she met the love of her life, James M. "Jim" Sparks.  They married on October 23, 1954 and made Pleasant Valley their home in 1958.  They shared over sixty years of love, devotion, and companionship before Jim's death in 2012.

While raising their children, Anne also worked for several years as an expert medical transcriptionist supporting many local physicians.  Not only a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Anne was an expert quilter and seamstress.  What a treat it was to be gifted one of her beautiful quilts!

In addition to her parents and husband, Anne was preceded in death by her brothers John and Jan "Jake" Suierveld.

Left to cherish her memory are her four children:  Linda (Jim) Phillips of Crossville, TN, Susan (Wayne) DeFonzo of Mechanicsburg, Pa, Joan Sparks of Hartsville, TN, and Jim (Nancy) Sparks of Lebanon, TN.

Also surviving are her grandchildren:  Dana Phillips of Knoxville, and Matthew, Michael, and Daniel Sparks, all of Tennessee.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at the Dixon Springs Cemetery with Bro. Dickie Johnson officiating.  Visitation Saturday 10-11 a.m. at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home.
