Funeral services for Mrs. Amanda Gladys Preston Oakley will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 7 , 2015, at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Bro. Donald Owens officiating.  Interment will follow at Wilson County Memorial Gardens.  Visitation Tuesday 3:00 – 8:00 PM and Wednesday after 11AM at Ligon & Bobo. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Oakley, age 94 of Lebanon passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015, at Quality Care.

Born March 27, 1920, in Cannon County, she is the daughter of the late Claud Lannom Preston and Dessie Myrtle Turney Preston.  She was a homemaker and a mother.  She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude F. Oakley on February 25, 1996; daughter, Jan Timbs; two sisters, Inez Preston and Margaret Preston; and two brothers, Felix and Raymond Preston.

She is survived by five children: Wayne (Carolyn) Oakley; Ken (Marie) Oakley; Larry (Alice) Oakley; Rick (Treieva) Oakley; and Debbie (Bill) Patterson; ten grandchildren, Tim (Debbie) Hill, Greg Hill, Susan (Kevin) Haas, Steven (Angie) Oakley, Kendra Oakley, Carmen (Andrew) Kelley, John (Melissa) Oakley, Shane (Lori) Oakley, Brian Patterson and Brad Patterson; 14 great grandchildren.
